 Wandering...
« Thread Started on May 2, 2008, 12:45pm »

The creature blended into the surroundings. Her white coat hid her from the humans. Ruby red eyes gleamed in the dull sunlight as she eyed the many fish that flopped about on the ground. The female was watching for her chance. It seemed as though that chance was making itself known.

The average sized female Siberian husky darted out from her hiding spot. Pink pads hit the ground below, black claws scarring the snow. She stopped for a brief moment and crouched, making sure the humans didn't see her. The husky, named Kuja, then began to slink forward. Kuja took a fish and bolted away, just as a stone was overthrown in her direction.

She returned to her hiding spot to eat her catch. Kuja's muzzle turned pink from the fish blood that leaked from the marine animal. She gave a great sigh of boredom as she finished her meal. Kuja left the fish bones for the birds to pick over and wandered off to find something to do.

((Thank you for modifying the post))

The mellow eyes of the timber wolf had been watching the dog for a while now. She wanted to go over and say something, but even though she was so caring, this one could be quite shy at times. Not often, but at times. It looked like this dog could take care of itself, so it would definately not need fostering, but maybe it would like to talk for a while?

With a soft sgh, Itsuka walked out onto the harbour, where the dog had just finished their kill. Itsuka had not spoken to many dogs before, she usually just spoke to wolves as it was rare for her to go near human territory. The humans could be violent, but there had been some she had known in the past to be quite pleasant to animals, as she watched from the safety of the trees.

Deciding it was now or never, Itsuka moved closer to the dog, but not so close that it would be startled.

Hi there! she said happily, waiting for the reaction.

Kuja whipped around, not exactly startled. But she hadn't expected to see another animal while she was here. She eyed the wolf carefully, sizing her up just in case she had to defend herself. "Who are you?" Kuja asked in her melodic voice. She stood there and waited for the answer.

Just as it was rare for this wolf to speak to dogs, it was a rare for Kuja to speak to wolves. Kuja tried to stay out of the woods at all costs as she had very bad experiences with wolves. She also prefered to be dogs as most of them had rather good tempers. Sometimes she could get into a scrap with one, but she usually won.

Kuja sighed softly as she waited for the answer. Her muscles were visibly tense in case she had to defend herself. She wouldn't allow herself to sit for fear she would let her guard down.

Itsuka could feel the tension in the air and let out a small laugh. This was why she very rarely spoke to dogs, as they always got so defensive. In a way, the wolf could hardly blame her, because some wolves could be vicious and had no time for dogs. Many a time had she heard from others she had met about dogs being killed because they wandered into the paths of wolves. It didn't upset Itsuka though, as that was just the way that nature could be at times.

Coming out of her flashback, she kept her eyes on the dog. She did not want her to be so defensive, and she thought about her words carefully.

My name is Itsuka. Do not worry, husky, I am not going to hurt you. I do not like to hurt others. What is your name? she asked, hoping that the dog would relax. She felt bad by just addressing the femme as 'husky', but what else was she supposed to call it unless she had a name?
